Maggie Rosamond (owner) is the director of the Competitive Dance Company. Maggie’s dance experience includes over 20 years of dance training. After graduating High school she went on to pursue a Bachelors degree in Broadcast/Journalism and a minor in English at The University of Mississippi. While attending Ole Miss she was captain of the Dance Team and led the team to it’s first National ranking in school history. She has since then done choreography for College dance teams as well as choreography for various dancers in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Maggie was an instructor and choreographer for the Universal Dance Association for 5 years. She was also a NBA dancer for the Memphis Grizzlies Dance Team. In 2005 Maggie extended her dance training at L.A.’s dance studio, Edge Performing Arts Center. In the last 4 years that Studio 413 has had a Competitive Dance Company, Maggie has lead her dancers to numerous overall finishes and platinum rankings. She has also received many choreography and technique awards. In 2009 she was selected as Company Dances’s "Educator of the Year" for the Memphis Regional. Maggie is married to her wonderful husband, Michael and they have two children, daughter, Preslie and son, Buck. Maggie teaches Jazz/Technique, Lyrical, Contemporary and the Company dancers.
Kim McCarter (owner) danced for the University of Memphis where the Pom Pom squad won consecutive National championships. At U of M Kim earned a Masters degree in Science and is now a registered Dietician. She worked for NDA as an instructor for 2 years then continued to work for UDA for 7 years as a head instructor and choreographer for summer camps and international events. Kim has also done choreography for college dance teams in Illinois and Kentucky. She has performed at various NBA games for the New York Knicks and Chicago Bulls. Kim also danced in Monday night Football commercials with Hank Williams Jr. and the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon in L.A. She has judged many prestigious National Championships. Kim was the coach and choreographer for the Collierville High School Dance Team for 13 years. She lead the team to a National Championship and they placed among the top 10, 8 years in a row. Kim has twins, Addyson and Maddoc and is married to her wonderful husband, Lane McCarter. Kim teaches, Pre-school, Jazz/Technique, Hip Hop and Company dancers.
Katrina Levine is originally from Vasalia, California. She was a student here at Studio 413 and has now joined our teaching staff. She began competitively dancing at the age of four. She has danced in various events, competitions, and conventions. Katrina has trained with numerous professional dancers and choreographers along with training at the EDGE in Hollywood, CA. Throughout her dance career, she has won numerous dance awards and dance scholarships at conventions such as Tremaine, L.A. Dance Force, Kids Dance LA, L.A. Underground, and Company Dance. After moving to Tennessee, Katrina danced for the nationally ranked Collierville High School Dance Team and placed 2nd in nation in 2006. After graduating from Collierville High School, she is now attending the University of Memphis where she is pursuing a degree in Communications and a minor in Dance. Katrina is currently the coach of the Southwind High School Dance Team. Katrina teaches Lyrical, Contmeporary, Tap and Jazz/Technique.
Lisa McCarroll began her training in North Carolina where she attended the North Carolina School of the Arts. She performed with the Charlotte Regional Ballet Company, under the direction of Gay Porter and Duncan Noble. She graduated from East Carolina University, earning a BFA in dance. While at ECU, she performed with the ECU theatre, organized and began the university first dance team and worked with Mavis Ray in several music videos and industrials. She has performed professionally in Las Vegas, California and North Carolina in several shows and industrials. She also performed with Maceo Anderson, original member of the “Cotton Club” at Show works in Las Vegas and toured with the Canadian band, “Curtola” as a dancer/choreographer. Lisa has taught dance in North Carolina, Virginia, Nevada and Tennessee. She lives in Collierville with her Husband and two children.
Yosek Prieto is joining our Studio 413 staff this Fall. He is a native of Pinar del Rio, Cuba. Yosek was most recently a dancer in Ballet de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico under the direction of Robert Hill and Luis Serrano. While there he was in the production of Danzon, Guapango, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Giselle (Hilarion), Grapatango, Cantus, Bayader and Volver. Yosek was also a dancer at Ballet Nacional de Cuba in La Habana, Cuba where he worked under the direction of Alicia Alonso. He has studied Ballet at Escuela Nacional de Ballet and Escuela Vocacional de Arte. While there he was under the instruction of Romona de Saa Bello, Mirta Hermida, Maestro Feranado Alonso, Maestro Alvaro Carreno and Marta Iris. Along with teaching Ballet Yosek is also a Salsa instructor. We are very excited Yosek is joining our 413 family!
Charlie McGowan began his dancing and acting training at age four in San Francisco, CA, and is well versed, technically and stylistically, in tap, jazz, musical theatre, ballet, and improvisation. Mr. McGowan’s performance career encompasses stage, film and commercial venues. He has portrayed lead roles in such plays as George M., West Side Story, Oklahoma, as well as, Dream and A Chorus Line on Broadway. A selection of Charlie’s film credits include: Grease 2, Annie, and Beaches; he is most notably recognized for his dynamic performance in the role of “Mike” in the movie “A Chorus Line”. Most recently, Mr. McGowan was honored to have personally been chosen by the late Gene Kelly to portray Mr. Kelly in the remake of “An American in Paris.” Charlie currently teaches and adjudicates internationally at various festivals, conventions, and competitions, including L.A. Dance Force. Charlie teaches Tap 3 and 4.
Marianna Ramsour graduated as a Classical Ballet Dancer at Keyla Ermecheo's Ballet School in Caracas, Venezuela. She danced professionally at the Metropolitan Ballet of Caracas until 1996 when she became a part of the National Ballet of Caracas, under the artistic direction of Vicente Nebrada. Marianna toured and danced many prominent roles with the Company including, Serenade and Concerto Barroco from George Balanchine. In November 2000 she came to the United States where she became member of Ballet Memphis. During her career at Ballet Memphis, Marianna performed in Principal roles from 2002-2004, until her retirement in May of 2004 due to a knee injury. Marianna now enjoys teaching full-time. Currently she teaches a Ballet 4 class and Pointe.
Beatrice Davis began dancing at the age of 2. She has been a competing since she was 6 years old. Over the years she has won many awards and has been recognized as an outstanding dancer at numerous dance conventions. She has trained and been a competitive dancer with Studio 413 since they opened their doors in 2004. Since then she has received scholarships with LA Danceforce, Tremaine, Co. Dance, Showstopper, Access Broadway. In 2008 she was received the ATA award (assistant teacher award) with the Co. Dance. She did such an outstanding job that in 2009 they selected her as an Apprentice. She has traveled to over 10 cities assisting their celebrity faculty and extending her training at the same time. In the Fall of 2009 she headed-up a club at CHS called "Dance Out Loud". This club is for special needs students who would normally never get a chance to dance or learn about dance. Since it's beginning, there are now over 80 students involved in spreading the love of dance to these precious people. Beatrice is a member of the Beta Club, Varsity Pom team and she works at the dance captain for the CHS Theater program. She most recently was selected with a group of dancers from Studio 413 to a private audition for America's Got Talent. She is trained in Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Ballet and Contemporary. She has been an assistant teacher for 5 years and is now moving into the teaching role. She enjoys spending her free time at the lake and with her friends and family.
Scotti Fifer is coming to us as our new Hip Hop teacher this year. He has recently moved back to Memphis (his hometown) from Virginia. His training includes being a member of Oracle Dance Troupe which he moved on to be their choreographer in 2008. He has done various performances on the East coast and is now involved teaching at The Visible School with Kevin Thomas. He has also done performances with Busch Gardens Entertainment for “Hallowscream,” “Rockin’ Eve’s Wrath,” “Funky Physics” and “Frankenrock.” He has a lot of experience in training dancers not only in Hip Hop style but also in developing them as performers. We are very excited to have Scott join our staff and see him continue to grow our students in his dance genre.
