If you have a child who loves to dance, loves to perform and is ready to commit a lot of time and talent, then consider having them audition for Company, the competitive and performance aspect of Studio 413.  It involves additional rehearsals and travel to dance conventions and competitions throughout the region so dancers are exposed to other choreography and the responsibility of competing.  Perhaps more importantly, being a part of Company helps build self confidence, develop a great work ethic and enhance self-discipline and teamwork among the dancers.  Please make the decision to audition very carefully and do not audition if you or your child are "on the fence."  If there is any doubt at all, it's probably a better idea not to audition as the commitment level is very high.  We are looking forward to working with dancers who are talented, work hard and are excited about being a part of a strong Company.

The Strength Company offers the serious dancer a way to continue training, performing and growing in their abilities.  Strength dancers have been selected to represent Studio 413 in the most rigorous competitions as well as at multiple conventions and community performances.  A high level of commitment is expected, and they consistently win awards and are recognized for their advanced skill as accomplished dancers.

The Passion Company is a good fit for the dancer who may just be starting competitive dance and for those who are eager to take their dance training to the next level.  Passion provides a great introduction to Company, and dancers represent a variety of experience and training.

How do I sign up for auditions?

You can download the audition entry form from our website.  An informational Q & A meeting for parents will be offered closer to audition dates, and this is required for those who are new to auditions and Company.  A $20 audition fee is due with your entry form.

What will I be doing in the audition?

The audition consists of learning both a Ballet and Jazz combo. Dancers will learn each combo, divide into small groups by audition number and then perform each of their combos in front of a panel of independent judges.

What do I wear?

Ballet portion of the audition:
Black leotard, flesh-tone tights, pink Ballet shoes and hair in a high bun.

Jazz portion of the audition:
Dancers should dress to impress. Select an outfit that is totally your style but that compliments your lines and body.  Although you have the freedom to chose your style preference, you must wear booty shorts and a tight-fitting top.

If you are a teen or senior, make-up is preferred.  If you are younger, feel free to wear a small amount of make-up, but it is not required.  It's all about looking your best and putting thought into this experience so that you stand out!

How many dancers will be selected?

There isn't a set number of dancers in our Company program.  The number of dancers selected will be based on scores and where there is a break in scoring.  The audition determines where dancers are placed for choreography and where they will best be suited according to their ability.

What is the timing for Company?

After Company members are selected in the spring, choreography will begin in the summer  to prepare for competitions that begin in the fall.  All Company members are required to attend at least one event in the summer.
