Carmen is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, and officially began her dance career and the age of 15. In 2012, she graduated with Honors from Watkins Overton High School of Performing Arts in Memphis and was a student in the Optional Program , CAPA Dance Department and a member of the Pom- Pom Team. During Carmen’s senior, year she was crowned Miss Overton High School and was the first HipHop dancer to win the pageant.
While juggling school, teaching and choreographing, Carmen traveled to dance conventions to train as a dancer, never losing focus on choreographing and teaching dance. In 2016, Carmen was a cast member of the Monsters of HipHop Dance Finale Show in Los Angles, California. As an Alumna of the dance convention she now assists well known choreographers during classes.
She received her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance with a Concentration in Exercise Sports Science and a Minor in Dance from the University of Memphis in 2017. During her time there she maintained good grades and received the Dean’s List Award and is currently studying to become a certified Personal Trainer.
Carmen taught at schools and dance studios across the city of Memphis as well as out of state appearances, featured in local commercials, newspapers, music videos, and many appearances with the Memphis Grizzlies. Her future plans are to move to North Hollywood, California, to train and work in the commercial dance industry.
Carmen knows that through Christ Jesus, ALL things are possible and she MUST keep Him first and follow His lead.
